A dandy is a man who places particular importance upon physical appearance, refined language, and the cultivation of leisurely hobbies. Some dandies, especially in Britain in the late 18th and 19th century, strove to affect aristocratic values even though many came from common backgrounds. Thus, a dandy could be considered a kind of snob.” –Wiki

Thanks to The Undead Film Critic, I had some fun with some old pictures at PhotoFunia this morning.

Let us now praise famous dandies. For my money, dandyism reach it’s pinacle in the mid 80’s in the guise of one Mr. Morris Day. Farnsworth Bentley is not fit to wipe Morris Day’s ass. And Morris had one of the greatest hype men in the history of music in the form of the man known only as Jerome. The fact that they only really had one EP worth of great music is beside the point.

Ahhh, Mr. Day, an excellent choice! And Jerome was no slouch either! As for Farnsworth, he may be worthy to spit shine my favorite Dandy’s shoes…The shoes of Karl Lagerfeld.

The Posh one is my new screen saver… seriously.

  4. mrcanacorn Says:

Auntie, now don’t go getting me in trouble with Unk….it does kind of rule though, doesn’t it?

I’m surprised you didn’t chime in with a favorite Dandy….

  5. aunt john Says:

    Does Jm J. Bollock count?

  6. aunt john Says:

OK, I thought about it some more, and I am torn between two (lovers):

    1. Project Run-Gay Season One contestant Austin Scarlett. (Suck it Wendy Pepper!)

    2. My favorite Dandy-Daddy-Bear Christopher Hewett a.k.a. Mr. Belvedere. He really had the best theme song.

  7. mrcanacorn Says:

Now you’ve got the hang of it, Auntie! It’s no lie that I think Jm J is the bee’s Knees, he doesn’t really scream Dandy to me…on the other hand, Miss Scarlett is one Hell of a modern day Dandy. A fine choice indeed.

    And, um, wow…Dandy-Daddy-Bear….that’s awesome.
